Get Relief From Your Arthritis Symptoms With These Tips
For most types of arthritis, there is no simple arthritis cure. There are over 100 different types of arthritis. Some of these types, such as rheumatoid, can go into remission without any symptoms present with proper treatment. Though they never completely go away, most types of arthritis get better with treatment.

There are a variety of ways to treat arthritis, alleviating the pain and helping patients affected with the condition resume their normal daily activities. Quickly beginning treatment after diagnosis can give patients the best prognosis of their condition going into remission and getting relief from the symptoms.
There are a variety of essential oils that reduce inflammation and can relieve the painful symptoms of arthritis. Arthritis essential oils include:
- Tea tree.
- Bay leaf.
These oils should be mixed with a carrier oil, such as coconut oil, before being rubbed into the skin twice daily. Many essential oils are extremely concentrated and could cause burns if applied directly to the skin.
An anti-inflammatory diet can help reduce the symptoms of arthritis. A typical arthritis diet consists of eating:
- Three to four ounces of fish at least twice a week.
- One-and-a-half ounces of nuts each day.
- Nine or more servings of fruits and vegetables each day.
- Two to three tablespoons of olive oil each day.
- One cup of beans twice a week
- Six ounces of whole grains each day.
Sugar and other refined carbohydrates can increase inflammation, so these should be avoided as much as possible.
Though it may seem as it would cause more pain, exercising is one of the most important things that a person with arthritis can do to reduce inflammation. Arthritis exercises can reduce joint pain, decrease weight, increase joint mobility and increase muscle tone. Those with arthritis should begin slowly if they’ve never exercised before. Walking, swimming and strength training can all improve arthritis symptoms, while not being too hard on the joints.
Arthritis medication is commonly prescribed to reduce inflammation and pain in the joints. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS), which include ibuprofen, naproxen, aspirin and ketoprofen, work by reducing inflammation in the joints. Depression drugs, narcotics and acetaminophen are also sometimes prescribed in order to relieve pain.
